Mount Moosilauke is the 10th highest peak in New Hampshire, and is one of the New Hampshire 4000 Footers at 4,082ft (1,379m). Greg and Victoria both summited on November 10, 2012. We started out at the Moosilauke Ravine Lodge and took the Gorge Brook Trail to the summit, walked the ridge to South Peak, and then followed Carriage Road and Snapper Trail back to Gorge Brook Trail (7.5mi loop, 2,450ft elevation gain).

The trail was icy and had about 2-3 inches of snow most of the way, so our microspikes were the right choice. The ridge between the summit and South Peak had the most snow and at some points we were postholing about 2 1/2 feet deep. The summit was very windy with winds gusting to 30-40mph, but the rest of the route (except the ridge walk and summit approach)  is protected so we were comfortable temperature wise.
