Mount Washington is America’s tallest mountain east of the Mississippi and north of the Carolinas and the highest point in New Hampshire. It stands at 6,288ft tall (1,917m). Until 2010, it held the record for the highest wind gust measured on Earth’s surface (231mph). Greg, John, Kristen, Matt, Meryl, Nate, and Victoria all summited on August 4, 2012. We started out at Pinkham Notch Visitor Center, followed Lion Head Trail to the summit, and descended via Tuckerman Ravine Trail (8.4mi rt, 4,300ft elevation gain).
